HEY guys i am in need of some real advice and fast. I used to work for this company and when they issued me my last check there was a duplicate copy. I call the office right away to notify them of what had happened. The receptionist told me that i probably had got two pay checks due to my seperation with the company. I thought nothing else of it because she told me I could cash both. Now 2 months later I find out one of the checks was turned over to the police and I am being investigated for fraud. I cant remember what the ladies name is that I spoke to and I am supposed to meet with the detectives tommorow. What should I do? They are making it seem like I photo copied my check or tried to commit an illegal act? How do I defend myself? The check was like 256.00 dollars if this in criminal is it a felony what kind of trouble would I be in? Thanks for your reply!!!
