OK, so I have a friend that was caught shop-lifting at Macy's. She has this whole routine where she uses a razor to cut the tags off of clothes and then sticks the tags into the pockets of other clothing items that she doesn't want to purchase (and she does this all in the stall of the dressing room). But when she was caught and taken in back for questioning, the security asked her about the razor that she had used, and had mentioned to a co-worker about the tags being put into the pockets of other merchandise. Meaning that she had to have been watched in the dressing room. Is that legal for the store to invade her privacy like that? If so, should she contact a lawyer immediately? She was in the wrong, but she feels extremely violated and is now afraid to go to the store and try on clothes.
