My husband and I were property managers for a retirement property, we were told that we work 3 hours and day housing was provided for free. Our background prior was storage management and housing was provided also.

we were stillon unempl. that if we made less than i think it was 165 a week that it would not affect our money because we took a part time job. And since we only made $125 a week a piece we were under the guidelines.

When we got our paycheck I notice that there was $165.00 was added to our checks and then subtracted just the same.... I thought that was for tax purposes for the company. Even when were we received out first checks the $165.00 was added not subtracted I asked what that money was for and was told that since our place was not ready and we were staying in a hotel that was compensation and never used the word wage. So when it was added and subtracted I thought little of it. UNTIL!

After 2 months empl review and received a manag living contract by mail, that is when i found out that the money was income for housing to make us look as if we worked full time, i email my corp office on the review with issue that were't true and also express on we were told that housing was free, I requested a meeting this was a Friday and that Tuesday we were fired at will,
Because of that in the unemployment’s eye we did not disclose income to get check that we were not eligible for. On top of all of this mess that company told the unemployment that we gave a verbal notice to leave the company. thank goodness i had all emails and we won that part of our case and am now receiving half ... in the end do to the lies of this company and the amount that they provided to the unemployed. In reality I only made approx. $1300 for 2 months employment and in the unemployed. Show because what the ex-employer provided we made approx. $2900 so I have been penalized 7 full week of no pay and i have to pay back over $2400 untill paid off. ...
