Dream Deferred Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a doctor, like my great great grandfather, or a lawyer. I don't really like blood (or needles) so when I attended college the first time, my major was Criminal Justice and I had a double minor in Spanish and Psychology. Once I got into my major, it seemed like the laws were designed to incarcerate African Americans, and I could not participate in a field that is aids in the destruction of my brothers and sisters (literally and figuratively). Plus, I also didn't want to spend 100k+ and four years on an education where I had the potential to burn out in about 5 years.
